I'm Happy to Announce That I'm Ready For My New Home! Please Apply to Adopt Me? Can I Come Home With You Soon?
My name is Hope. I am so lucky to be alive right now. I am in the loving arms of volunteers of Chicago English Bulldog Rescue and trying to get my life back on track.
I was found wandering the streets of downstate Illinois and was picked up by the local animal control. I was taken to the shelter where they realized that I was never going to find a family that would adopt me. I was heartworm positive and had been for some time. The worms had overtaken my body. My eyes were swollen and infected and blinded by large “cherry eyes” that blocked my vision. My ears were infected, my skin itchy, and my body ached. I had been on the streets for so long, I was a mere figure of what I once was.
I had given up hope.
But on a whim, the director of the shelter thought she would give Chicago English Bulldog Rescue a try. The only option was euthanization and she crossed her fingers that CEBR would help. Little did she know, but CEBR will ALWAYS help. They heard about me and ran to get me as soon as they could. They knew they had to help. It wasn’t ever questioned. Within days, I was out of the cage, and into a loving foster home for the first time in a long, long time. And so I became known as Hope. From a girl that had no future in sight, to a bully with a full belly, a warm home, and the love and attention I deserve.
I have hope.
I’m struggling to regain my health and am asking for your support. Would you help CEBR help me through my remaining heartworm treatments and surgical procedures?
